Party Helicopter Rides in North Texas: Costs & Planning Guide
Plan party helicopter rides in North Texas. See how the $550 ferry and $600 hourly ride time add up, how little space you need, and how to book.
The cake is cut, the music is going, and then every guest turns toward the same sound. A helicopter is settling in for the party, and for the next hour your guests take turns climbing in beside the pilot to see the whole celebration from above. If you want to host the party people still talk about next year, party helicopter rides are about as big as it gets.
At TruFlight Academy, we fly our Guimbal Cabri G2 out to events across North Texas. The price comes down to two numbers: a $550 ferry flight to bring the helicopter to you, and $600 for each hour the helicopter is running at your party. Below, you’ll see how the cost adds up, how much room the helicopter needs, and what your guests can expect.
How party helicopter rides work from start to finish
The process starts with your address. You send us the party location, and we check it out to make sure rides are possible there. If the site works, we plan the ferry flight and lock in a time.
On the day of the party, our pilot flies the Cabri G2 to your event, the same way we fly out to students for mobile helicopter lessons. Once the helicopter is on site, guests take their turns. When the ride time wraps up, the helicopter flies home to Finney Field in Howe.
Here is the short version:
- Send us your party address and the date you have in mind.
- We check the location to confirm rides are possible.
- We quote your price based on how long you want the helicopter running at the party.
- The helicopter arrives, guests ride, and the party gets its headline moment.
What party helicopter rides cost in 2026
Pricing is built around time spent at your event. You pay for the trip out and for the time the helicopter is running at the party. That keeps the math simple and puts you in control of the total.
| Cost item | Price | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Ferry flight | $550 | Bringing the helicopter to your event and back |
| Ride time | $600 per hour | Each hour the helicopter is running at your party |
| Setup fee | $200, depending on location | Added for some locations; we tell you up front |
A few worked examples make it easier to budget:
| Time running at your party | Ferry + ride time | With a $200 setup fee |
|---|---|---|
| 1 hour | $1,150 | $1,350 |
| 2 hours | $1,750 | $1,950 |
| 3 hours | $2,350 | $2,550 |
The setup fee depends on your location, so not every party carries it. When we review your address, we tell you whether it applies before you book. Rates can change, so call us or check our pricing page for the latest numbers on everything we fly.
How much space you actually need
This is the question most hosts expect to be a deal breaker, and it usually isn’t. Helicopters need surprisingly little space, much less ground than an airplane needs, which is the same reason we can bring lessons closer to our students.
What we can’t do is promise a location before we’ve looked at it. That’s why the address comes first. Send it over, and we’ll check the site to make sure rides are possible there. If something about the spot doesn’t work, you’ll hear about it during planning, well before party day.
A few things help us review your location faster:
- The full street address of the party, or the nearest address if it’s on open land
- The date and the window you want rides to happen
- A rough guest count so we can talk through how to use your ride time
If you’re planning in McKinney, Frisco, Allen, or elsewhere around Dallas-Fort Worth, send it our way and we’ll take a look.
What your guests will experience
Each ride puts one guest up front beside our pilot. Our Cabri G2 is a two-seat helicopter with a wide canopy, so riders get a big view out across the neighborhood. Guests get to watch the party shrink below them, wave at friends on the ground, and come back with photos nobody else at the party has.
Comfort is covered in every season. Our helicopter has both heat and AC, so a July afternoon in North Texas or a chilly December evening doesn’t keep anyone from enjoying the ride.

Guests ride up front beside our pilot, with a wide view of the party below.
Parents and partners often ask about safety before anyone climbs in. Our Cabri G2 was designed with a crash-resistant fuel cell, energy-absorbing seats, and a carbon fiber body, and the aircraft is maintained in-house by our Guimbal factory-trained mechanic at TruFix Maintenance. You can read more about how we approach it in our helicopter safety guide. Weather makes the final call on every flight, so we keep you posted in the days before your party and talk through options if the forecast turns.
Parties that are made for a helicopter
Almost any celebration gets louder when a helicopter shows up, but some events fit especially well:
- Milestone birthdays. Give the guest of honor the first ride and let everyone else line up after.
- Graduation parties. A ride makes a big send-off for the next chapter.
- Anniversaries and family reunions. Put two generations side by side in photos with the helicopter.
- Company gatherings and customer events. A ride turns an ordinary afternoon into the one people mention at the next meeting.
- Neighborhood and holiday parties. The whole street hears about it.
Ride time is yours to plan. One hour might cover a short birthday rush. Two or three hours give a bigger crowd more turns and give you room for breaks between cake, speeches, and photos. Tell us the shape of your event and we’ll help you decide how much time to book.

A helicopter needs less room than most hosts expect, which is why we check every location before rides are booked.
Turn one ride into a first flight
Some guests step out of the helicopter and want more than a ride. If that’s you or someone at your party, our discovery flight is where it starts. For $195, you meet the instructor, go through a cockpit orientation, and take the controls yourself, including a try at hovering. It also makes a good gift for the guest who wouldn’t stop talking about the ride.
If the discovery flight becomes a bigger goal, we train students from zero flight time all the way to instructor in the Cabri G2 on our zero-to-CFI path. Financing options may be available to qualified applicants for flight training, and we’re happy to walk you through them when the time comes.
Frequently asked questions about party helicopter rides
How much do party helicopter rides cost?
The ferry flight is $550, and ride time is $600 for each hour the helicopter is running at your party. Some locations add a $200 setup fee. Two hours of rides, for example, comes to $1,750, or $1,950 with a setup fee. Current rates are always on our pricing page.
How much room does the helicopter need?
Less than most people expect. Every location is different, though, so send us your party address and we’ll check it out to make sure rides are possible before you book.
When does the setup fee apply?
The setup fee depends on your location. We’ll let you know whether it applies after we review your address, so there are no surprises on the invoice.
How many guests can ride at once?
The Cabri G2 is a two-seat helicopter, so each ride is one guest beside our pilot. Booking more running time gives more guests a turn. Call us with your guest count and we’ll help you plan the hour.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Weather decides every flight. We watch the forecast leading up to your event and talk through options with you if conditions don’t cooperate. Our mobile lessons guide explains how we handle weather calls when we fly out to a location.
Will guests be comfortable in the Texas heat?
Yes. The helicopter has both heat and AC, so riders stay comfortable in summer and winter.
Can a guest learn to fly after the party?
Absolutely. A discovery flight puts them at the controls with an instructor for $195, and it’s the first step toward a Private Pilot certificate if they catch the bug.
Ready to host the party of the year?
Guests will be talking about the helicopter long after the cake is gone. Send us your party address and date, and we’ll check the location, confirm rides are possible, and build a price around the time you want the helicopter at your event.
Call us at +1-833-722-iFLY or contact TruFlight Academy and let’s find out if we can make it happen for you.
